Chevrolet debuted its new concept car the Chevy Aveo RS this year at the 2010 NAIAS (North American International Auto Show), in Detroit Michigan. The new Chevrolet Aveo RS has a European flair, and it’s appealing to young drivers that are buying small cars for their efficiency and character.

The Aveo RS could lead the small car segment as it brings together both interior and exterior design, and does so without sacrificing its utility. The cargo space is quite adequate and fits nicely with the vehicle in terms of aesthetics.

The sporty design of the new Aveo RS was well received at the Auto Show, especially the well designed front grill that has brushed aluminum and fog lights to accent the fenders and fascia.

The Chevy Aveo RS also looks aggressive without appearing obnoxious, the some cars do with spoilers that serve no engineering purpose and useless fender cladding like some of the alternative vehicles in this segment.

The Aveo RS shows that the design and functionality can come together and represent a very popular selling car for a younger generation of drivers. Everybody wins when it looks as good as it drives, so expect Chevy to move this into production soon, and begin promoting it online to a younger target audience.

The Aveo RS shares some mechanical similarities with the Chevrolet Cruze, which has a 130 horsepower 1.4L engine, and a six speed manual transmission.

Chevy realizes the demand for higher quality appearance and performance modifications so it answers with 19″ wheels and customized engine parts in brushed aluminum.

Those who wish to modify and enhance the looks of their Aveo RS will be pleased to see these upgrades made in the engine compartment, which will be of better quality than some of the aftermarket stuff.

The Aveo RS price has not been released, but given it’s audience and the price of the others in the segment it should be under $20,000.
